The city of Regina insists each clearly-cast vote in last week’s civic election is being counted even though some candidates are raising concerns about the impact of so-called “blank ballots.”
The automatic reading machines the city used to read and tally the ballots in Wednesday’s vote records a ballot as “blank” if someone doesn’t make a selection in a race; for example if you voted for mayor but decided not to cast a vote for a council candidate or school board member.
